Different Types Of Jib Cranes

A jib crane is a compact and efficient piece of lifting equipment, most commonly utilized in industrial facilities and workshops. The jib crane is composed of a rotating boom, a vertical mast and a hoist, and can be operated either electrically or pneumatically. Although the overhead crane is widely preferred, today many owners of workshops recognize the many benefits jib cranes bring and decide to invest in a jib crane.
The main advantage of the compact jib crane is that it takes up very little space for installment, so that the owner can use its floor space in the most efficient way. Small-sized, but still efficient, the jib crane is capable of loading and unloading of very large objects. The main use of the jib crane is lifting lighter objects on a daily basis, as it is very dependable and reliable. If you want to make an investment in a jib crane, you first need to know the three main jib crane types. Read on.

Wall-Mounted Jib Crane

The wall-mounted jib crane is an efficient machine and is most commonly used for quick handling of work pieces. As its name states, this jib crane is mounted on a wall and is fixed with concrete. If its jib arm can fold, the crane is able to get to any corner in an industrial facility. Also, the wall-mounted jib crane is able to rotate for 200 degrees and cover the area without obstruction.

Wall Traveling Jib Crane

The wall traveling jib crane is capable of carrying loads independently, securing unobstructed handling of materials in every direction. In fact, it is very similar to the wall-mounted jib crane, only it can cover the surrounding area of concrete without obstruction at floor level. The concrete columns move along with the jib crane and do not rotate. Additionally, this type of jib crane saves a lot of money and idle times of workers. The maximum rotation of the wall traveling jib crane is up to 280 degrees and its lifting capacity varies about 9000 kg.

Floor-Mounted Jib Crane

Another type of jib cranes is the floor-mounted jib crane. This jib crane is suggested for the toughest applications, as it is self-supporting crane. However, it can still be used for some everyday lifting applications, whether indoor or outdoor.
